Current conditions

To Henry and all the team,
I just wanted to say what an excellent news letter on the current conditions and where to find the best snow. Please keep up the good work.   Thomas

HATadventures on snow All in all I gotta give it two thumbs up, I got to go places I never would have gone otherwise, learnt heaps and maybe now I can once and for all overcome my fears and start getting out there with friends and keep it up. It was an experience I’ll remember forever, thanks Henry!

Levels of experience required to ski with HAT

Specific off-piste experience is not necessary, but you should be able to ski all marked runs. The quality of your linked turns in powder is less important than how you feel about your skiing experiences to date and where you want to get to with your skiing.

Introduction You are ready to get started with some proper off-piste training.   You have skied all the pistes; but find that when you have tried off-piste it has all seemed much more difficult than piste skiing and you don't really understand why.

Experimenter You want to move on and increase your skills and confidence.  You have tried the off piste but are a bit unsure about it. You would like to do more off-piste but feel you do not understand the risks. This makes you apprehensive.

Explorer You feel you could go off piste much more by using your own initiative.   You have done a lot of off-piste skiing; but you feel a bit stuck in a rut and want to learn, so you can get more from off-piste skiing.

Minimum ski fitness

You should be fit enough and willing to hike with skis on your backpack for 30 - 45 minutes or so to reach the best conditions.  You may encounter some challenging conditions and endure a bit of discomfort.  But this is only so we can help you to discover the sensational moments of pleasure to be derived from finding the right conditions.

Take a look at this web site to discover how the Henry’s Avalanche Talk team can help you get more from the off piste, to ensure you have fun and stay safe out there.
